The living room of this beautiful residence in the heart of Hancock Park was filled with hand-me-downs from parents and in-laws making the room feel dark and dated. The client contacted us to update the living room using existing pieces and adding some new. We initially removed the heavy drapes, installed fresh matchstick shades and painted the room a bright neutral.  Wanting to maintain the chinoiserie vibe of the house, we collected the blue and white objects and placed them on a new bone inlay entry console to create a welcoming entrance. Additional furniture pieces - a high gloss coffee table, ivory sofa and neutral lounge chairs - were fabricated and placed on the existing area rug. The outcome is a fresh take on the traditional.
